Kirk Hendrickson
Kirk Hendrickson spent his entire adult life pursuing two worthy causes - advocating for people with disabilities and coaching youth sports. Kirk grew up in Oakridge, Oregon and attended Oregon College of Education, where he was a dual athlete in football and baseball. He and Diana Koffler were married in 1971; they had three children and one foster child – Heather, Josh, Luke, and LeRoy. Kirk loved spending time with his grandchildren, and they adored him. Kirk was diagnosed with ALS in 2014 and passed away in May 2016. The impact he had on the youth he coached, the people with disabilities he worked with, and the employees he mentored can never be fully appreciated. Mike Cunningham Mike Cunningham was a teacher and football, wrestling, and track coach at West Albany High School. He married his wife, Janelle, in 1987 and had two daughters, Jenna and Ashton. Mike graduated from West Albany in 1986 and Oregon State, where he played football, in 1991. He battled ALS for seven years before passing away in 2005. Mike lived his life with the motto “Whatever Is Necessary;” his fight was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. |
